I was listening for a sound, a sound my friend told me I would never hear
The sound of hissing steam
The sound of squeaking metal
The snowflakes fell lightly around it
“All Aboard” the conductor cried
And I took his outreached hand and he pulled me aboard
It was a magical sound like nothing I’d ever heard
The sound of bells
But you know only believers can hear the sound
The sound of bells
